Bio
Franciscan Brother Rufino Zaragoza, OFM is a composer, speaker, author, developer of multicultural worship resources (in Vietnamese, Spanish and English) and expert on Vietnamese Catholicism and liturgical inculturation. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Brother Zaragoza currently spends half the year based in Saigon, Vietnam, supporting English Mass communities in Southeast Asia and English Masses in Vietnamese seminaries and religious houses of formation. He spends the other half of the year in residence at Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside, California, serving as a liturgical music consultant on the West Coast. In collaboration with Viatorian Father Mark Francis, he was a contributor to Liturgy in a Culturally Diverse Community, the revised document on multicultural liturgies published by the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commisions (FDLC). He has published popular collections of instrumental music and liturgical music including the songs “From the Wounds of Christ,” “A Sacred Place” and “Sacred Creation.”
