Mark Friedman is a liturgical Catholic liturgical composer, music director, cantor, educator and pastoral minister based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2005, he was honored as Music Educator of the Year by the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. A frequent collaborator with Janet Vogt Zeitler, Friedman is the composer of many songs and hymns that are used at schools and parishes across the country. His compositions include “Be the Hands, the Heart of God,” “Gather at this Feast” (both with Janet Vogt), and “Enter the Journey.” In addition to his religious writing and composing, he has co-written 12 musicals published by Theatrical Rights Worldwide and Concord Theatricals (Rodgers and Hammerstein) that continue to play throughout the United States and internationally. Mark has garnered awards and recognition for his writing and composing of works for theatre, being nominated for an Ohio Governor’s Award for the Arts and recognized as one of the 100 most influential artists in the last 100 years in the City of Cincinnati.
