Bio

†James Hansen (1937–2018) was an author and Catholic liturgical composer known for his long association with the National Association of Pastoral Musicians Cantor and Lector Schools as coordinator and master teacher. He was the former director for the Office of Worship in Marquette, Michigan, and wrote the book Cantor Basics, published by OCP. Until his death in May 2018, Hansen was a frequent collaborator with Melanie Coddington, with whom he developed the NPM Cantor Express. His compositions include “Bless the Feast” and “Ballad of the Ark.”
