Bio
Jesuit Father Christopher Willcock is an award-winning composer, music teacher and workshop presenter. While most of his compositions are liturgical, written for choir and assembly, a smaller body of Fr. Willcock’s work was written with the concert hall in mind. Born in Sydney, Australia, Fr. Willcock taught liturgy at the United Faculty of Theology of the University of Divinity in Melbourne, Australia, for many years. In 1993, he was the inaugural recipient of the Percy Jones Memorial Award for outstanding contribution to liturgical music. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Australian Catholic University, also for his contribution to liturgical music within the Catholic Church. Fr. Willcock is currently an adjunct professor at Jesuit Theological College, in Parkville, Australia. His compositions include “A Servant Song” and “There Is Nothing Told.” In 2024, Christopher received the honor of Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music.
