Bio
Bob Hurd is a teacher, author, composer and liturgist based in Claremont, California. His book Compassionate Christ, Compassionate People was voted first place in the liturgy category by both the Association of Catholic Publishers and the Catholic Press Association. In 2005, he received the Faithful Servant Award from the Southwest Liturgical Conference, and in 2010, he was named National Association of Pastoral Musician’s Pastoral Musician of the Year. Hurd composes bilingual (Spanish and English) and multilingual liturgical music in addition to his English-language work, often in collaboration with his wife, Pia Moriarty. His popular compositions include “Transfigure Us, O Lord,” “Shelter Me, O God” and “Gather Your People.” Some of his popular bilingual songs include “Ubi Caritas,” “Pan de Vida” and “Ven al Banquete.”
